David B. Macbeth

David B. Macbeth is a founding vocal/choral faculty member of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. He conducts two of the school’s five choral ensembles, and teaches classes in advanced placement (AP) music theory, piano, and applied vocal techniques. David holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education from West Chester University, with concentrations in choral conducting, applied voice, organ, and collaborative piano. While at WCU David received numerous merit and performance scholarships, and served a combined vocal/keyboard department graduate assistantship. David holds the American Guild of Organists Choir Master certification, ranking third nationally among 2013 examinees. In 2015 and 2016 David received parallel choral conducting and vocal performance fellowships with the Yale School of Music Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, under the direction of Yale emeritus Simon Carrington.  He has conducted choral ensembles at world class venues such as the National Cathedral, Washington, DC, Carnegie Hall, New York,  and the Dome Cathedral, Riga, Latvia. In 2012 David led the Touring Choir of the Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts to a third place finish in the advanced mixed youth choir division of the World Choir Games. The ensemble is now listed on the INTERKULTUR 100 top youth choirs world ranking. David also serves as the Choirmaster and Director of Music Ministries at First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, Pa.  Most recently, he has served as an adjunct studio accompanist for the New School of Mannes Conservatory, New York.
